In Spring of 2018, I accepted a resident pharmacist position with Jewel-Osco/Midwestern University. My technician/intern experience dates back to July of 2010. My experience is primarily retail/grocery pharmacy and the thing I enjoy most about that is the close connection I get to have with patients. I like having time to discuss their medications with them and make sure they have all the information they need to receive the most from their healthcare. I have also been an intern at a compounding pharmacy called The Pill Shop in Aurora, IL. This was during the summer of my PS-2 year. I enjoyed that immensely because I have a strong interest in compounding. Some of my other areas of interest in pharmacy: Pediatric oncology, ICU/critical care pharmacy, poison prevention, immunizations, ambulatory care services, and working with the geriatric population struggling with Alzheimer's. I had extraordinary APPE rotation experiences and have decided that my ideal job would be a position as a clinical pharmacist in ambulatory care and/or pediatric pharmacy! I am, however, open to other areas of opportunity in the pharmacy world and am excited to see what is in store the coming years. I am very much looking forward to the wealth of new knowledge I know I will gain throughout my career and the difference I can help to make in patients’ lives!
